Netlib is a good source of numeric software. The web site is at http://www.netlib.org/. It has a useful search engine for the software on the site.
There are a number of ftp mirror sites for netlib. The Australian ftp mirror is at ftp://wraith.cs.uow.edu.au/netlib/.
